Laura Tamez is a fierce advocate for people who need help. Nobody is more passionate about advocating for her clients in the courtroom. This same belief drives Laura to create opportunities for others throughout the community.
As a partner/shareholder in The Herrera Law Firm, Laura Tamez represents plaintiffs in tort and business litigation. She has persevered for her clients for more than a decade, trying and settling multi-million dollar death and catastrophic injury cases.
Tamez' sense of compassion and desire to help led her to pursue a law degree. After graduating from Texas A&M with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, she enrolled in St. Mary's University School of Law. As a law student, Tamez received a law clerkship with Frank Herrera's law firm, known at the time as the Law Offices of Frank Herrera. After graduating from St. Mary's University School of Law in 1995, Tamez joined the firm full-time
.While Tamez is passionate about her professional activities, she is equally dedicated to working in the community. She's extremely proud of her involvement with the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. As a charter member of the TTLA Diversity Committee and former Chair, Tamez helps sponsor TTLA membership for ethnic minority and women lawyers, making the organization and its resources more accessible. She was elected to serve as President of the San Antonio Lawyers Association for the year 2007. She was the first Hispanic female to hold this post. She currently serves as the Minority Caucus Chair of the American Association for Justice. Tamez remains active with the National College of Advocacy.
Laura and her husband, George, have two children: Elena and Carlos.
