San Antonio to file lawsuit against opioid manufacturers and distributors

The City of San Antonio is joining national litigation against opioid manufacturers and distributors. City Council signed a resolution to participate in multi-district litigation, and the Herrera Law Firm will help San Antonio join hundreds of other cities, counties and states who are suing drug companies that manufacture and distribute opioids.  Attorney Jorge Herrera says the lawsuit will argue that “opioids have had a devastating impact at the local level, costing taxpayers money, wasting resources and destroying families.”

Fired Boeing manager files lawsuit

A former Boeing Co. senior quality manager in San Antonio has sued the company, alleging she was terminated for refusing to allow military cargo planes to return to service because of safety concerns. Cynthia A. Whittenburg, who now lives in Houston, seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages from Boeing. The suit was filed last month in Bexar County Circuit Court. A Boeing spokeswoman didn't respond to requests for comment Friday. The Chicago-based manufacturer last week filed a response in the case, generally denying the allegations. Boeing's Port San Antonio facility handles aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul work.

Cotulla is a thriving. Big trucks are everywhere hauling miles of pile, gravel and fracking sand for oil rigs that have popped up to cash in on the Eagle Ford Shale oil and natural gas boom.
